(A silent prayer is offered here for our students!) <br /><br /> There's quite a few changes happening at Eugene Bible College, and although they're all good, some of them have been very tough to navigate. I wanted to thank each of you for your prayers and patience. But the good news is that we are seeing light, and I'm here to announce that our greatest days lay just ahead of us. <br /><br /> <img src="http://legacy.ebc.edu/ebcnewsletter0310/images/2.jpg" style="padding: 1px; border: 1px solid #000; margin: 5px; float: right;" />As I receive letters and emails from students and staff that share their encouragement, I am filled with hope. Here is an excerpt from the letters of two students recently: <blockquote>"I never would have imagined being connected to a movement like this! I am very grateful that you can see potential and take the time to teach us young leaders!" <br /><br /> "I feel so privileged to be here at EBC - in a time of renewal, refocusing, and growth. It feels like fresh air ... like a breeze blowing and renewing everything around."</blockquote> <br /><br /> To keep you informed of the latest updates, here are a few items of note: <br /><br /> <strong>EBC BUDGET CRUNCH</strong> <br /> Each year around this time, we have a bit of a budget crunch. However, the real challenge is that at the same time, we need to be in full swing to recruit new students for our Fall semester (yes, we are moving to semesters this Fall!) And there are still lots of upgrades needing to be done... so what do you do when the coffers are near empty? <br /><br /> <img src="http://legacy.ebc.edu/ebcnewsletter0310/images/1.jpg" style="padding: 1px; border: 1px solid #000; margin: 5px; float: left;" />Well, with great delight and thankfulness, I wanted you to know that <strong>New Hope Christian Fellowship</strong> has just donated <strong>$125,000</strong> toward the upgrades you may be seeing on campus! There is also some for advertising and recruiting so that no funds will be taken from the daily running of the college. In a tight season that demands tough economic decisions, God is providing us with a sign of His Presence and blessing! <br /><br /> Thank you New Hope! <br /><br /> <strong>NEW STAFF</strong> <br /> You will be seeing a few new staff members around campus. Jim DeGroot, our new Athletic Director, will be recruiting athletes to EBC in the next few months. Jim is succeeding Jason Burke who has done a tremendous job with our sports programs. Jason will continue to be with us until December. After that, he will be student-teaching in preparation to be a middle school instructor.
