Reconnect

RECONNECT 2008 is now a vivid memory of enthusiastic alumni,
friends and families who gathered on the campus of New Hope Christian College for a weekend filled with fun and fellowship.
There is nothing more important in life than loving people
and this reunion was full of opportunities to renew relationships
and share life with alumni from Open Bible's historic colleges:
New Hope Christian College, Eugene Bible College, Open Bible College, California Open
Bible Institute, Florida Beacon College and Dayton Bible
College.
The Reconnect Praise Band and the Reconnect Choir led us
in worship, The Call and the alumni basketball teams entertained
us, and we dined like royalty at the banquet, picnic and
breakfasts.
Julie Cole reminded us that everyone has a story, and of
the importance of telling that story. Gary Emery helped
us remember lessons we learned in Bible College. Jeff Farmer
told us humorous college experiences and reminded us of
the importance of taking steps to help ensure the long-term
financial stability of our College by partnering in the
effort to raise a permanently restricted endowment fund.
On Sunday morning, Ed and Delores Anderson led in beautiful
worship at the newly-named Whitlow Cross Plaza, and Dan
LeLaCheur ministered a powerful word about the meaning of
the Cross for him and for us before we shared communion
together.
Then, the weekend was capped by our dedication of the Rexius
Event Center. Ray Rexius led in prayer over the future activities
in the facility named after his dear parents, Sol and Lil
Rexius. M. J. Stewart spoke blessing over the work of God
in our new Stewart Chapel, and Wayne Cordeiro did the same
for future activities in Cordeiro Court. We were blessed
by the gracious presence of Trudy Piper and her family as
we dedicated the Piper Lobby, and Jeff Farmer introduced
us to the wonderful new Open Bible Archives and Heritage
Center. Overall, over 300 were touched by the presence of
God throughout the weekend, and we'll remember these days
for a long time.
